Who is eligible to be a Referring Merchant?

Almost everybody! We accept referrals for contact centers anywhere in the world. Referral leads can be submitted by anyone, apart from any Synchrony Bank employees, current employees of the referred company, and anyone younger than 18 years old.

What is a valid referral?

A referral is defined as a named contact with company affiliation and contact information determined solely by Synchrony Bank as having an interest in becoming a Synchrony Bank merchant.

For your referral to qualify for the program, they must be

✔ in an industry we serve,

✔ not currently enrolled, and

✔ a new referral.

Do I have to be a Synchrony Bank merchant to make referrals?

Yes, the Synchrony Bank Merchant Referral Program is open to Synchrony Bank merchants.

What if my referral does not become a Synchrony Bank merchant?

Commissions are only issued for referrals that result in a new Synchrony Bank merchant. Referrals that do not become Synchrony Bank merchants are not eligible for commission payments. Remember, you can make unlimited referrals.

What if my referral is already in contact with Synchrony Bank?

Qualifying referrals must be an introduction to an account that is not currently in contact with Synchrony Bank.

Do I need to know the person I am referring?

Referrals have the potential to be more successful when you know the person you refer to Synchrony Bank and that you confirm with that person that it's fine for Synchrony Bank to contact them, but it is not a strict requirement.
